I’m a nature and field recordist who has an insane obsession with recording.  By that I mean I love to record anything and everything.  I was first introduced to microphones and recording to reel-to-reel tape and cassette tape back in the 70’s when I was growing up.  Now, I’m all-digital (mostly).  This blog is my way of sharing the many interesting and crazy things I’ve learned and encountered through the years, and still continue to encounter, with field recording.  Most sounds I’ve enjoyed recording, others weren’t quite what I expected.  Some I altogether didn’t want and could have done the rest of my life without.  Either way, it’ll be an intriguing bit of experience and wonderment to share with folks, both those interested in this sort of thing and those wondering what in the heck could be so exciting about …… hearing things.  I’m a nut about nature and the sounds in it, so grab your headphones, kick back, and prepare to listen to some of the weird, wacky, and just plain captivating sounds of the world as I often hear them!
